 UPDATE

The City of Toronto’s subcontractor — OJCR Construction — is expected to begin sanitary sewer and water-main work on The Esplanade, between Yonge Street and Scott Street, as soon as November 27th pending approval by Transportation Services and Councillor McConnell.

Toronto Water has advised us that the work will last approximately 2 weeks (weather permitting). In order to complete the work the City’s contractor — OJCR Construction — will require traffic closure on The Esplanade directly in front of 1 The Esplanade. Traffic will be re-opened at the end of each work day. They will maintain pedestrian traffic through area at all times.

When we have more detailed information it will be posted here.

Update: No date set for Water & Sanitary Sewer work on The Esplanade

UPDATE: Water & Sanitary Drain Work on The Esplanade – City Contractor is still in the process of applying for a road closure on The Esplanade.

The Construction Management Team was advised late last week that City of Toronto contractor OJCR Construction is planning to install water connections, sanitary drain connections and storm water connections at 1 The Esplanade (Backstage).

This would involve OJCR Construction closing the Esplanade to dig and make connections. The affected area would be between the western entrance to the Toronto Parking Authority garage and Yonge Street.

The Construction Management Team has been advised that OJCR plans have been further delayed. No start date is currently available.

The work is required as part of construction but its scheduling is in the hands OJCR Construction and the City of Toronto.

We have been in active dialogue with the City Councillor’s Office. They are seeking more detailed information from City staff. We will post details when we have them.
