Update for Backstage Construction Schedule – April 5 & 6

This is the update t the construction schedule for 1 The Esplanade – L Tower parking and Backstage condominium – for April 5 – 6, 2013

Friday, April 5 – Updated

  • Formwork deliveries by subcontractor Italform, from 7:00 am.
  • GFL Excavating will be using the hydraulic breaker to prepare the footings; the footings will then be dug out.
  • Italform will be pouring parking level 5–pour #1. This pour will start at 9:30am and will take approximately 3 hours to place the concrete. It is anticipated that the concrete finishing will go to 10:30 pm.

Saturday, April 6 – Daytime Vehicular Road Closure

  • GFL Excavating will hoisting excavators out of the excavation to facilitate this Dominus is applying for a vehicular road closure on The Esplanade from Yonge Street to Scott Street. Domius has also requested two paid duty officers.
  • The hoisting operation is estimated to start at 9:00am and go to 1:00pm

NOTES:

  • A Paid Duty Police Officer is on-site daily Monday to Friday, from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm daily to assist with traffic control.
  • There may be some short-term impacts on traffic flow as concrete trucks are moved into position.
  • Concrete trucks must keep their engines running during the pouring process.

Backstage Construction Schedule – April 3 – 6, 2013 – Updated

Wednesday, April 3 – – Updated

  • Formwork deliveries by subcontractor Italform, from 7:00 am.
  • GFL Excavating will be using the hydraulic breaker to prepare the footings; the footings will then be dug out.
  • A slab concrete pour by subcontractor Italform, 50 cubic metres of concrete. The pour will extend to at least  8:30 pm this evening.

Thursday, April 4 

  • Formwork deliveries by subcontractor Italform, from 7:00 am.
  • GFL Excavating will be using the hydraulic breaker to prepare the footings; the footings will then be dug out.
  • A wall and footings concrete pour by subcontractor Italform, 50 cubic metres of concrete. The pour should  be completed prior to 7:00 pm, subject to weather conditions. 

Friday, April 5 – Updated

Monday, December 17

  • GFL Excavating will be setting up long reach and will be removing material from the site: six (6) dump trucks will take fourteen (14) loads each, for a total of eighty-four (84) loads. **
  • OJCR will be tying in water lines on the Esplanade.

Tuesday, December 18

  • GFL Excavating will not be removing material. They will be operating the hydraulic breaker and preparing material, this will cause significant noise during construction hours.
  • OJCR will be tying in water lines on the Esplanade.

Wednesday, December 19

  • GFL Excavating will not be removing material. They will be operating the hydraulic breaker and preparing material.
  • OJCR will be tying in water lines on the Esplanade.

Thursday, December 20

  • GFL Excavating will be using the long reach and will be removing material from the site: six (6) dump trucks will take fourteen (14) loads each, for a total of eighty-four (84) loads. **

Friday, December 21

  • GFL Excavating will be using the long reach and will be removing material from the site: six (6) dump trucks will take fourteen (14) loads each, for a total of eighty-four (84) loads. **

NOTES: 

** Dump truck frequencies are dependent on road and traffic conditions and the amount excavation materials at any given time on the site.

Construction activities are dependent on whether.

Continuing Sanitary Sewer & Water Main work on The Esplanade 

City of Toronto contractor — OJCR Construction — continues water main work on The Esplanade between Yonge Street and Scott Street. 

  1. Pedestrian traffic will remain open. 
  2. Eastbound Vehicular Traffic may be closed during work hours. 
  3. We have advised the City of complaints we have received in respect to their work.

  • GFL Excavating will be operating machinery in the hole moving material in preparation for the long reach.
  • OJCR will be working on service connection on the Esplanade.
