This is the construction schedule for 1 The Esplanade, Backstage condominium – for February 27 – March 4, 2016

Suites up to the 19th floor are ready for the occupancy as move-ins to Backstage continue through the weekend and the coming week. Exterior work, to install the podium cladding and balcony glazing, that was delayed by inclement weather continues. Occasional deliveries will occur as needed with minimal impact on the street or traffic flows. The 3rd and 4th floor parking levels will have their lines painted prior to opening to new residents. Work also continues on the interior of the building the remaining unfinished suites for occupancy.

Backstage Construction Update – February 6 – 12, 2016

This is the construction schedule for 1 The Esplanade, Backstage condominium – for February 6 – 12, 2016

Exterior work is focussed on the podium and the tower as cladding and glazing are being installed. Access to the building from Yonge Street will open soon, with the removal of material from the site and the addition of paved walkways. Access to the parking garage lobby will be opened from The Esplanade. Occasional deliveries occur as needed with minimal impact on the street or traffic flows. Work continues on the interior of the building readying suites for occupancy; in particular penthouse suites are still being finished prior to the installation of kitchens and appliances. The first move-ins to Backstage are expected this month.

Backstage Construction Update – January 23 – 29, 2016

Fire damage to the podium roof from Wednesday’s accidental fire is minimal and will be cleaned this coming up week. As we and the media reported, there were no injuries, no structural damage and the fore was quickly put out due to the fast action of the on-site construction crew and the quick and efficient response from Toronto Fires Services. Exterior work continues on the podium and tower this coming week.  Interior suite finishing continues. The first move-ins to Backstage are expected in February. Please check back for updates.

Exterior work continues on the podium this coming week.  The installation of balcony glazing on the southwest corner of the tower also continues. Two temporary lighting poles will be installed to provide additional street lighting. Please check back for details on the timing of the pole and lighting installation. Backstage Construction Update – January 9 – 15, 2016

As we enter the New Year, work has been gearing up at Backstage. Exterior work is concentrated on finishing the podium cladding and the balcony glazing on the southwest corner of the tower. Some deliveries continue with minor impacts on The Esplanade. We’ll have more information on approximate timelines for some of the key exterior work in the later part of the month. Please check back for daily updates which we post when there are notable changes to the construction schedule.
