L Tower September 12 – 18 2015

8 The Esplanade – L Tower Saturday, September 12 – 18, 2015.

The external crane at the L Tower (seen below) has one more major job to do, lifting a temporary crane apparatus (pictured below) to the top of the building. Once there, the temporary crane will be used to put the permanent window washing platform in place. When this work is completed the large tower crane will be taken down. We will be providing updates on this here as information becomes available.

NOTE for L Tower Residents

We get enquires from L Tower residents about the progress of internal work in the building. While we are happy to direct these enquiries to the appropriate people, please note that the purpose of this site is to provide construction information to external stakeholders, particularly in the immediate St. Lawrence Market neighbourhood. 

As well the north side of The Esplanade will remain open even when and if  there are road closures associated with Backstage construction on the south side of the road.

The L Tower’s large external crane has one more big job to do, raising and lowering the temporary crane to the top of the building. The temporary crane (as noted above) will be used to lift the permanent window washing platform into place.
