  • Subcontractor Itlaform forming the 5th floor outdoor swimming pool.
  • Interior suite drywall and finishing.

 Monday, April 27

  • Subcontractor Itlaform forming the 5th floor outdoor swimming pool.
  • Interior suite drywall and finishing.

Tuesday, April 28

  • Subcontractor Itlaform starting a concrete pour for the5th floor outdoor swimming pool starting at 10:00am.

    • All rebar deliveries are now complete.
    • A Paid Duty Police Officer may be on-site when required and when available to assist with traffic control, Monday to Friday, from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm daily. 
    • Concrete pour schedules and times are subject to weather conditions.
    • There may be some short-term impacts on traffic flow as concrete or delivery trucks are moved into position.
    • Concrete trucks must keep their engines running during the pouring process.

8 The Esplanade – L Tower Saturday, April 25 – 2May 1, 2015.

  • The L Tower crane, seen here from Scott Street continues to be used. Also note the temporary platform for the window washing crane at the top of the tower. We expect it will remain up through May. 
  •  The L Tower is now the second most photographed building in Toronto after the CN Tower. Here is another view of it from Front Street East.

  • Working on 5th floor swimming pool.
  • Waterproofing main roof.
  • Interior suite drywall and finishing.

  • Interior suite drywall and finishing.

Tuesday, April 14

  • Subcontractor Italform demobilizing their equipment and materials.
  • Working on 5th floor swimming pool.
  • Waterproofing 5th floor podium.
  • Interior suite drywall and finishing.
  • 35th floor Window delivery occupying north curb lane of the Esplanade, starting at 2:00 pm to approximately 4:00 pm.

  • The L Tower crane, seen here from the 8th floor of the Backstage condominium, continues to be used, . As of now we expect it to be taken down at the end of April. We will provide updates as we get them.

  • Interior work will be the focus on Saturday April 11. The interior suites are starting to come together as drywall goes up and elements, such as bathtubs, are installed.

  • Concrete pour for the curbs on the roof (8 meters of concrete), starting at 2:00 pm. 
  •  Interior suite drywall and finishing.
  •  Waterproofing 5th floor podium.

Tuesday, April 7

  • Drywall deliveries for the 13th floor, from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm.
  • Elevator machine room roof  concrete pour by subcontractor Italform (35meters of concrete), starting at 11:00 am.
  • Waterproofing 5th floor podium.
  • Concrete finishing till 10:00 pm

Wednesday, April 8

  • Concrete pour for the curbs on the roof (8 meters of concrete), starting at 2:00 pm. 
  •  Interior suite drywall and finishing.
  •  Starting swimming pool work on the  5th floor podium.

L Tower April 4 – 10, 2015

8 The Esplanade – L Tower Saturday, April 4 – 10, 2015.

  • The City of Toronto is currently renovating and redesigning and rebuilding the north plaza and entrance way to the Sony Centre for the Performing Arts. This work is separate from the Plaza project. The first pahse of work, depicted below, should be complete within a week to 10 days.

  • The eastbound traffic lane of The Esplanade, will be open over the Easter/Passover weekend.
