Esplanade Repaving November 15 + Vehicular closure November 17

Please note that eastbound vehicle lane of The Esplanade between Yonge and Scott, will be repaved on Saturday and should reopen to vehicular traffic on Sunday, November 16 (or possibly as early as late Saturday). We have also been advised that The Esplanade will be closed again to vehicle traffic on Monday, November 17 to facilitate fibre-optic cable installation by Beanfield Metroconnect. Details below:

Saturday, November 15

• The eastbound vehicle lane, which has been closed from Monday November 10 – Friday November 14, will be repaved, starting at 9:00 am.
• Housekeeping activities will be occurring through the day at Backstage.
• Interior work and movie-ins (from Yonge Street) will be occurring at L Tower through the day.

Sunday, November 16

• It is expected that the eastbound vehicle lane will be reopened for Sunday, if not by late Saturday.

Monday, November 17

• The Esplanade will be closed during the day to eastbound vehicle traffic by contractor Distinct Tech. They will be installing conduits for fibre-optic cable for Beanfield Metroconnect.
• Please note: Beanfield Metroconnect schedules their own work and is responsible for relevant permits and did not advise on-site construction managers of the scheduling of this work prior to late Friday, November 14.
