Saturday, November 29

  • Dominus construction crew doing housekeeping work on-site, from 9:00 am.
  • Electrical and plumbing subcontractors working in the building from 9:00 am.

Monday, December 1

  • Rebar delivery, scheduled to begin at 7:00 am.
  • 29thFloor slab concrete pour #2, by subcontractor Italform, scheduled to begin at 10:30 am.
  • After slab, wall concrete pour (33 metres of concrete). 
  • Concrete Finishing until to 10:30 pm.

Tuesday, December 2

  • Rebar delivery, scheduled to begin at 7:00 am.
  • 29thFloor slab concrete pour #3, by subcontractor Italform, scheduled to begin at 10:30 am.
  • After slab, wall concrete pour (33 metres of concrete). 
  • Concrete Finishing until to 10:30 pm.

Wednesday, December 3

  • A wall and column concrete pour, by subcontractor Italform (45 metres of concrete), scheduled to run from 12:30 pm.

Thursday, December 4

  • 30thFloor slab concrete pour #1, by subcontractor Italform, scheduled to begin at 10:30 am.
  • An after-slab wall and column concrete pour (33 metres of concrete) to begin following the main slab pour.
  • Concrete Finishing until to 10:30 pm.

Friday, December 5

  • 30th Floor slab concrete pour #2, by subcontractor Italform, scheduled to begin at 10:30 am.
  • An after-slab wall and column concrete pour (33 metres of concrete) to begin following the main slab pour.
  • Concrete Finishing until to 10:30 pm.

  • A Paid Duty Police Officer is on-site daily Monday to Friday, from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm daily to assist with traffic control.
  • Concrete pour schedules and times are subject to weather conditions.
  • There may be some short-term impacts on traffic flow as concrete trucks are moved into position.
  • Concrete trucks must keep their engines running during the pouring process.

  • Interior work continues on multiple floors.
  • Move-ins are ongoing through the Yonge Street entrance.
  • Sidewalk wok on Yonge Street is ongoing and should be completed within the next 2 weeks.

The L Tower Parking Garage located underneath 1 The Esplanade (Backstage) has been operating on a valet parking basis with approximately 30 new L Tower resident vehicles using the space and counting.

    Please Note: During the training a dummy will be dropped and “rescued.”
  • Dominus construction crew doing housekeeping work on-site, from 9:00 am.

Monday, November 17

  • The Esplanade will be closed during the day to eastbound vehicle traffic by contractor Distinct Tech. They will be installing conduits for fibre-optic cable for Beanfield Metroconnect.
    • Please note: Beanfield Metroconnect schedules their own work and is responsible for relevant permits and did not advise on-site construction managers of the scheduling of this work prior to late Friday, November 14. 
  • CANCELLED – 27thFloor slab concrete pour #3, by subcontractor Italform, scheduled to begin at 10:30 am.
  • Cancelled – Concrete Finishing until to 10:30 pm.

Tuesday, November 18

  • Rebar delivery, scheduled to begin at 7:00 am.

New: Esplanade reopened early Nov 15. Daytime closure Nov 17

UPDATE: The Esplanade at Yonge reopened to vehicular traffic after lunch on November 15 and will remain open all weekend. A daytime road closure is expected Monday November 17 for fibre-optic cable work (please see below for details).

Saturday, November 15

  • The eastbound vehicle lane, which has been closed from Monday November 10 – Friday November 14, has been repaved and opened earlier than expected, in the early afternoon.
  • Housekeeping activities will be occurring through the day at Backstage.
  • Interior work and movie-ins (from Yonge Street) will be occurring at L Tower through the day.

Sunday, November 16

  • The eastbound vehicle lane will be open all day Sunday.

Monday, November 17

  • The Esplanade will be closed during the day to eastbound vehicle traffic by contractor Distinct Tech. They will be installing conduits for fibre-optic cable for Beanfield Metroconnect.
  • Please note: Beanfield Metroconnect schedules their own work and is responsible for relevant permits and did not advise on-site construction managers of the scheduling of this work prior to late Friday, November 14.

Esplanade Repaving November 15 + Vehicular closure November 17

Please note that eastbound vehicle lane of The Esplanade between Yonge and Scott, will be repaved on Saturday and should reopen to vehicular traffic on Sunday, November 16 (or possibly as early as late Saturday). We have also been advised that The Esplanade will be closed again to vehicle traffic on Monday, November 17 to facilitate fibre-optic cable installation by Beanfield Metroconnect. Details below:

Update on Esplanade vehicular closure November 12

Please note that The Esplanade will remain closed to vehicular traffic through the weekend of November 15/16.

The roadway requires resurfacing. Our present information is that a contractor is not available to do the repaving work until Saturday November 15 and it will take at least a day for the new asphalt to cure. 

Pedestrian access is being maintained both on the south side of the street beside the Backstage condominium construction site, and on the north side to permit access to the L Tower.

Update on Esplanade vehicular closure November 11

Please note that The Esplanade will remain closed to vehicular traffic until the road is resurfaced to make it safe to drive on. Pedestrian access is being maintained both on the south side of the street beside the Backstage condominium construction site, as well as access on the north side to the L Tower. Every effort is being made to get the road resurfaced ASAP and re-opened to eastbound car traffic.
