Road Closure May 1 on The Esplanade

Please be advised that on Thursday May 1, 2014, the eastbound lane from Yonge Street to Scott Street on The Esplanade will be closed to vehicle traffic from 7:00 am to 5:30 pm.

Pedestrians will continue to have access through the site.

The City of Toronto has approved the request for the temporary road closure and the appropriate permit will be posted on site on Thursday, May 1.

NOTE: the western exit from the Toronto Parking Authority’s St. Lawrence Parking Garage will be closed to all exits and entries as part of this temporary road closure. 

The Construction Management team apologizes in advance for any inconvenience this may cause.

  •  Some interior work on site.
  • Garbage bins being emptied and removed.

Monday, April 28

  • 50 cubic metre, wall and column concrete pour by subcontractor Italform. The pour is scheduled to begin after 12:30 pm and should be completed before 7:00 pm.

 Tuesday, April 29

  • Rebar (steel) delivery starting at 7:00 am.
  • 50 cubic metre, wall and column concrete pour by subcontractor Italform. The pour is scheduled to begin at 12:30 pm and should be completed before 7:00 pm.

Wednesday, April 30

  • Fifth floor slab concrete pour #2 by subcontractor Italform, scheduled to begin at 8:00 am.
  • After slab, 50 cubic metre wall and column concrete pour by subcontractor Italform.
  • Concrete Finishing to 10:00 pm.

Thursday, May 1

      • 50 cubic metre, wall and column concrete pour by subcontractor Italform. The pour is scheduled to begin at 12:30 pm and should be completed before 7:00 pm.

Friday, May 2

  • Rebar (steel) delivery starting at 7:00 am.
  • 50 cubic metre, wall and column concrete pour by subcontractor Italform. The pour is scheduled to begin after 12:30 pm and should be completed before 7:00 pm.

NOTES:

      • A Paid Duty Police Officer is on-site daily Monday to Friday, from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm daily to assist with traffic control.
      • Concrete pour schedules and times are subject to weather conditions.
      • There may be some short-term impacts on traffic flow as concrete trucks are moved into position.
      • Concrete trucks must keep their engines running during the pouring process.

 Saturday, April 12

  • Fifth floor slab concrete pour #1, by subcontractor Italform, scheduled to begin at 9:00 am.
  • After slab, 50 cubic metre wall and column concrete pour by subcontractor Italform.
  • Concrete Finishing to 12:00 am – midnight.
    • Please note this is long and complicated concrete pour. The scheduled start time is consistent with the City of Toronto Construction Noise By-Law as is the late completion, as concrete pours are exempted from the construction noise by-law. Why? Because once underway, they cannot be interrupted without compromising the structural integrity of the construction. The construction management team apologizes for any inconvenience this necessary work may cause. 

Monday, April 14

  • 50 cubic metre, wall and column concrete pour by subcontractor Italform. The pour is scheduled to begin at 1:00 pm and should be completed before 7:00 pm.

 Tuesday, April 15
