A note on the crane at 1 The Esplanade – L Tower parking and Backstage condominium construction site.

  1. The Ministry of Labour has cleared and approved the crane set up. It is has been inspected by professional engineers.
  2. The current configuration is set to the safety specifications for the crane.
  3. Safety standards decree that the crane must be able to move in the wind
      • Why? Because if the crane were locked, i.e. if it did turn in the wind, it could theoretically be at risk in extremely strong wind conditions. That it moves in the wind is part of the safety standards for crane installations of this type.
  4. The hook that hangs from the crane is left at length that balances the crane structure as per saftey requirements and Ministry standards.
