Esplanade re-opened between Scott & Yonge

The ice has stopped falling from the forming, crane and building edge at the L Tower.

The roadway has been re-opened.

Security staff will keep an eye on the situation. All the same please exercise caution traversing the roadway on The Esplanade between Scott Street and Yonge Street.

Please note that due ice falling from the L Tower the construction management team for L Tower and Backstage has closed The Esplanade — between Scott Street and Yonge Street — to pedestrians and vehicles in the interests of public safety. 

We apologize for the inconvenience but safety must come first. 
  
The road will stay closed until conditions improve — please check back for updates

  • GFL Excavating will be using the hydraulic breaker to prepare the footings; the footings will then be dug out.
  • A 50M (cubic metre) concrete pour by subcontractor Italform is scheduled today. The pour will be completed prior to 7:00 pm.

  • GFL Excavating will be using the hydraulic breaker to prepare the footings; the footings will then be dug out.
  • A 50M (cubic metre) concrete pour by subcontractor Italform is scheduled today. The pour will be completed prior to 7:00 pm.

Wednesday, February 27

  • GFL Excavating will be using the hydraulic breaker to prepare the footings; the footings will then be dug out.
  • A 50M (cubic metre) concrete pour by subcontractor Italform is scheduled today. The pour will be completed prior to 7:00 pm.

Updates for this week – concrete pours at Backstage & L Tower

The L Tower construction schedule has been updated for Wednesday, February 20 and Thursday, February 21. Please click here for details

Please note: there will be concrete pours at both L Tower and the Backstage (L Tower Parking) sites this week on Wednesday & Thursday.

There will be with increased truck traffic to service these concrete pours and some short-term delays for vehicular traffic. The construction management team apologizes for any inconvenience. 

Pedestrian access to and from Yonge Street is to be maintained.

A Paid Duty Police Officer will be on site.
