Monday, December 3 

  •  CANCELED GFL Excavating will be assembling the long reach backhoe and will be operating machinery in the hole moving material in preparation for the long reach. 
  • OJCR will be working on service connection on the Esplanade.

Tuesday, December 4

  •  CANCELED GFL Excavating will be assembling the long reach backhoe and will be operating machinery in the hole moving material in preparation for the long reach. 
  • OJCR will be working on service connection on the Esplanade.

Wednesday, December 5

  • The Long Reach back-hoe will be delivered to the site midday under police escort
  • OJCR will be tying in water lines on the Esplanade.

Thursday, December 6

  • GFL Excavating will be assembling the long reach backhoe and will be operating machinery in the hole moving material in preparation for the long reach.
  • OJCR will be tying in water lines on the Esplanade.

Friday, December 7

  • GFL Excavating will be assembling the long reach backhoe and will be operating machinery in the hole moving material in preparation for the long reach. 
  • OJCR will be tying in water lines on the Esplanade.

NOTES: 

* Dump truck frequencies are dependent on road and traffic conditions and the amount excavation materials at any given time on the site.

Construction activities are dependent on whether.

Paid Duty Police Officer is on-site  daily Monday to Friday, from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm daily to assist with traffic control.

L Tower Construction Schedule December 3 -7

  • CANCELLED: A 110 cubic metre, slab concrete pour at level 61, starting 8:00 am, which is not expected to finish later than 7:00 pm.

  • A rebar (steel) delivery starting at 7:00 am.

Friday, December 7 

  • A rebar (steel) delivery starting at 7:00 am.

A Paid Duty Police Officer is on-site daily Monday to Friday, from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm daily to assist with traffic control.

Backstage Update for December 1

This is a construction update for 1 The Esplanade – L Tower parking and Backstage condominium  for December 1, 2012

Updated November 29

The “Long Reach” Backhoe delivery that was scheduled to arrive at 1 The Esplanade under police escort midday Friday November 30 (below) – has been cancelled because subcontractor GFL Excavation was not able to schedule the police escort until Saturday. 

CANCELLED – The Long Reach will arrive on Saturday, December 1.

The semi-trailer float will travel south bound down Yonge Street in the north bound lanes. The Long Reach Backhoe will then be off-loaded and parked in the Backstage site at the North West corner of The Esplanade and Yonge Street. 

Vehicular and Pedestrian traffic will experience delays and interruptions during this delivery. We apologize in advance for the inconvenience. 

Sanitary Sewer & Water Main UPDATE

November 29 UPDATE – Sanitary Sewer & Water Main work on The Esplanade 

The City of Toronto’s subcontractor — OJCR Construction — has made the connection with the Sanitary Sewer and should complete this part of the work by this Friday, November 30. Then the connection of the water mains will take place next week with an anticipated completion date of Wednesday, December 5. The work on the storm sewer connection across Yonge Street should start on Thursday, December 6.

Toronto Water has advised us that in order to complete the work the City’s contractor — OJCR Construction — will require vehicular traffic closure on The Esplanade between Yonge Street and Scott Street. Traffic will be re-opened at the end of each work day. They will maintain pedestrian traffic through area at all times.

  1. Pedestrian traffic will remain open. 
  2. Eastbound Vehicular Traffic will be closed during work hours.

We have been advised that City of Toronto’s subcontractor — OJCR Construction — will begin sanitary sewer and water-main work on The Esplanade on  Wednesday, November 28. We have been advised that:

  1. Pedestrian traffic will remain open. 
  2. Eastbound Vehicular Traffic will be closed from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm

  • CANCELLED A large backhoe (a “long reach”) will be delivered under police escort to the site at midday. There will be temporary disruptions to traffic on Front Street East, Scott Street and The Esplanade.

Sanitary Sewer & Water Main work to begin November 28

UPDATE – Sanitary Sewer & Water Main work to begin on The Esplanade Wednesday, November 28, 2012

We have been advised that the City of Toronto’s subcontractor — OJCR Construction — will begin sanitary sewer and water-main work on The Esplanade, between Yonge Street and Scott Street, on Wednesday, November 28. OJCR will be distributing notices to 25 The Esplanade and The London on The Esplanade. 

Toronto Water has advised us that in order to complete the work the City’s contractor — OJCR Construction — will require vehicular traffic closure on The Esplanade between Yonge Street and Scott Street. Traffic will be re-opened at the end of each work day. They will maintain pedestrian traffic through area at all times.

  2. Eastbound Vehicular Traffic will be closed during work hours.

Monday, November 26

  • A 1 cubic metre concrete pour at 9:00 am, levels 61 – 62, expected to finish prior to 7:00 pm.
  • A rebar (steel) delivery starting at 7:00 am.
  • Two containers of windows with delivery starting at 12:00 pm and continuing to 4:00 pm.
  • A delivery of window frames with delivery starting 1:00 pm and continuing to 2:00 pm.

  • No activity is scheduled at this time.

Update on Water Main / Sewer Work at 1 The Esplanade

 UPDATE

The City of Toronto’s subcontractor — OJCR Construction — is expected to begin sanitary sewer and water-main work on The Esplanade, between Yonge Street and Scott Street, as soon as November 27th pending approval by Transportation Services and Councillor McConnell.

Toronto Water has advised us that the work will last approximately 2 weeks (weather permitting). In order to complete the work the City’s contractor — OJCR Construction — will require traffic closure on The Esplanade directly in front of 1 The Esplanade. Traffic will be re-opened at the end of each work day. They will maintain pedestrian traffic through area at all times.

When we have more detailed information it will be posted here. 

Additional deliveries at L Tower November 21 – 23

There will now be additional deliveries of windows and duct work at L Tower Wednesday, November 21 through Friday, November 23, from 7:00 am.
