This is the current construction schedule for 1 The Esplanade – L Tower parking and Backstage condominium – for July 21 – 27, 2012
Revised July 26, 2012
- The 30 day road closure of The Esplanade from Scott Street to Yonge Street remains in effect.
- A shuttle bus service will be be provided during the road closure please click here for the route map for the shuttle bus service.

Saturday, July 21
- Site preparation work for the tunnel boring may continue today depending on contractor availability.
Monday, July 23
- Mobile crane delivery and supporting equipment will be delivered to the site and installed commencing after 9:00 am
- Continuing key slot digging and preparation work in advance of the tunnel boring will continue on site.
Tuesday, July 24
- Continuing key slot digging and preparation work in advance of the tunnel boring will continue on site.
- GFL Excavating will haul excavate from the site as required.
Wednesday, July 25
- The float arrives with the tunnel boring machine under police escort. It is expected to arrive on site late morning or midday depending on traffic conditions through the city.
- Placing the tunnel boring machine into operational position, site set-up and related work will occupy most of the day.
Thursday, July 26 – REVISED
- Delayed by Wednesday night rain storm: Subcontractor, GFL Excavating will be removing material from the site: six (6) dump trucks will take 12 -13 loads each, for a total of seventy-two to seventy-four (72 – 74) loads.
- Tunnel boring delayed by rain storm. Pumping out water from the site.
Friday, July 27 – REVISED
- Tunnel Boring Machine testing.
- Subcontractor, GFL Excavating will be removing material from the site: six (6) dump trucks will take 12 -13 loads each, for a total of seventy-two to seventy-four (72 – 74) loads.
NOTES:
Construction activities are dependent on whether and delivery times and frequencies are dependent on road and traffic conditions.
A Paid Duty Police Officer is on-site daily Monday to Friday, from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm daily to assist with traffic control.
