This is an update for Thursday, March 1 2012 for construction activity at the Backstage condominium at 1 The Esplanade.

Thursday, March 1

  • Sub-contractor, Deep Foundation will have a float arriving at 8:00 am to remove the crawler crane from the construction site. The float will be leaving the site at 9:00 am under police escort. There will be unavoidable short-term disruptions to vehicular and pedestrian traffic during this process, in order to ensure the safety of the construction crew, drivers, cyclists and pedestrians.

  • A concrete pour for walls and columns on Levels 28 and 29, part 1, scheduled to start at 1:00 pm, which is not expected to extend beyond 7:00 pm.

Tuesday, February 28

  • A concrete pour for walls and columns on Levels 28 and 29, part 2, scheduled to start at 1:00 pm, which is not expected to extend beyond 7:00 pm.

Wednesday, February 29

  • Steel delivery at 7:00 am.
  • Window Delivery starting at 7:30 am.
  • Steel delivery at 10:00 am

Thursday, March 1

  • Window Delivery starting at 7:30 am.
  • Steel delivery at 10:00 am.
  • Weather postponed the scheduled concrete pour. 

Friday, March 2

  • Weather postponed this scheduled concrete pour: A concrete pour for walls and columns on Levels 29 and 30, part 1, scheduled to start at 1:00 pm, which is not expected to extend beyond 7:00 pm.

L Tower quick facts

Some quick facts about the construction of the L Tower

  • The  L Tower reached 28 floors as of the week ending February 24th 2012.

  • Since construction began 16,230M of concrete have been poured to-date.
    rr

  • The L Tower’s glazing system is part curtain wall and part window wall system.
      rr

    • Windows are brought up into the building through the means of our material hoist.
    • These windows are then distributed on the appropriate floors and then installed from inside the building.

  • An 190m concrete pour scheduled to start at 10:00 am, which is not expected to extend beyond 7:00 pm.

  • An 100m concrete pour scheduled to start at 2:00 pm, which might  extend beyond 7:00 pm.

Saturday, February 25

  • No major site work is scheduled at this time.
